Dublin School of Grooming - Courses

All of the dog grooming courses at Dublin School of Grooming have been carefully designed to meet the specific needs of our students and the industry.

All courses have an emphasis on practical work, as does the job of dog grooming itself. From day one students will be handling and interacting with dogs, slowly but surely building their confidence and expertise. Students are taken patiently step-by-step at their own pace through the grooming process. Our tutors work on a one-to-one basis with students and give constant feedback and guidance.

All practical work is undertaken at our dog grooming studio in Balbriggan, while most of the theory work is initially done in the student's own time and later refined by the tutors. The longer courses do not have to be taken in one block but instead can be spread over time. However, it is strongly advised that at least two blocks of five days be included in any course schedule.

The Assistant Groomer, Certificate and Advanced Certificate courses all require students to sit practical and theory exams. Students on these courses are also required to keep a daily written and pictorial log of their work.

All courses run from Tuesday to Saturday inclusive, except for the 'Groom Your Own Pet' course, which runs from Wednesday to Friday inclusive. Dublin School of Grooming supplies all equipment. A basic grooming equipment pack is provided to all students and is theirs to keep.

If you feel that none of our courses suit your requirements, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss tailoring a course to suit your needs.
