Application Procedures

Step 1

Do your research! Decide if you would like to do a taught or a research programme. Check out the postgraduate prospectus at www.ucc.ie/postgraduate for information on all the taught programmes on offer at UCC. Each programme has a dedicated co-ordinator you can contact for any specific information you might be looking for.

Step 2

Check out the closing date for the taught programme you are interested in applying for as closing dates vary by programme. Most of our closing dates for taught programmes are in May, June and early July but it may be possible to make a late application for some programmes.

If you are applying for a research programme there is no specific closing date but you are advised to make your application at least three months before your proposed start date.

Step 3

All applications for postgraduate programmes can be made online at www.pac.ie/ucc. You can apply for up to five taught programmes on the one application form. Some programmes require you to download and fill out a supplementary information form in addition to the online application. You will also be required to send on transcripts of your primary degree and any other courses you have completed, as well as the names of two academic referees to the Postgraduate Applications Centre in Galway.

Step 4

You can log into the PAC website at any time to view the status of your application. If your status changes you will receive an email to inform you. Offers are also made on-line and you are given a specific date by which you will need to accept. If you have any questions about your application, or wish to add or remove one of your programme choices, you can call the Graduate Studies Office on 021 4902876 or email graduatestudies@ucc.ie
