The MBA
Relaunched DIT MBA Rooted Firmly in the Smart Economy
THE Dublin Institute of Technology MBA is a classic pathway to career advancement for experienced managers.
A two year part-time programme it has been re-engineered to develop managers for the Smart Economy with the capability to grow Irish businesses via sustainable strategies.
The programme will accelerate participants’ careers, by giving them the theories and skills required to critically reflect and contribute to management practice in their organisation. It will expose them to a dynamic peer learning environment and cutting edge content delivered by leading academics, guest lecturers and industry practitioners.
In addition to providing participants with a comprehensive grounding in core functional areas, the DIT MBA transcends functional boundaries in focusing on a number of key themes including; leadership, innovation, sustainability andentrepreneurship.
The DIT MBA programme equips participants with the leadership skills needed to excel in senior management roles across a variety of sectors. As graduate Elaine Geraghty, describes “Shortly after completing the DIT MBA, I was promoted to the position of CEO of Newstalk. Completing the DIT MBA was the ideal preparation for this role – it challenged me in many ways but in particular, it honed my strategic thinking and prepared me for leadership in an entrepreneurial organisation.”
The programme is distinguished by the applied nature of the course content which means that it is truly transformational for the organisation as well as the individual. Participants will be challenged to apply their learning to address company specific problems, adding real value to their organisations.
Colin Hughes MBA Programme Manager stresses that “The MBA is about accelerated learning. Although intense and demanding in nature, the DIT tradition of learning support, peer engagement, and small cohorts, ensures individual attention and a high touch support structure”.
The innovative structure and quality of resources is emphasised by Dr. Katrina Lawlor, MBA Director at the DIT Graduate Business School, “We will bring to the MBA experience an outstanding body of management teachers and researchers together with international thought leaders and business strategists who have shaped and grown leading Irish and international companies”.
She points to the innovative programme architecture and the focus on responding to new economic realities and opportunities as uniquely equipping graduates for emerging leadership roles.
