Free places for unemployed on UCD Business Degree
40 jobless workers will have the opportunity to study for free on the UCD Bachelor of Business Studies (distance learning programme)

40 jobless workers will have the opportunity to study for free on the UCD Bachelor of Business Studies (distance learning programme) under a new initiative announced by the Minister for Education, Batt O’Keeffe TD.
As part of a Government plan to help improve the work place skills of the unemployed and assist them with returning to work, the places are co-funded by the Department of Education and Science and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
The new students will be entitled to maintain their jobseekers allowance while studying for their degree. The Bachelor of Business Studies (distance learning programme) delivered by the UCD Quinn School of Business takes four years to complete. It is designed for adults and second chance learners. It is focused on the needs of mature students.
“We are delighted to be participating in this Government initiative,” said Professor Tom Begley, Dean of Business at UCD. “This is an ideal opportunity for those who find themselves without work to improve their skills and employment prospects.”
The UCD Quinn School of Business is Ireland’s leading undergraduate business school with over 3,000 students from around the world.
