The Diploma in Business in Sales & Marketing will enable learners to gain a broad business education, with a focus on sales and marketing, at the foundation level. In addition, they will have knowledge and understanding in a range of core areas relating to business, including:

  • Business Software Applications
  • Workplace Communications

Please note that students must successfully complete all modules in one academic year to be eligible for the award.

Who Should Apply?

This programme is aimed at persons who are unemployed and who have been in receipt of Job Seeker’s Allowance or Benefit for six months or longer as at 1 September 2009 or those who have been awarded Statutory Redundancy.

The course will enable learners to gain a broad business education, with a focus on sales and marketing, at the foundation level. In addition, they will have knowledge and understanding in a range of core areas relating to business.

How to Apply?

Applications may be made directly to the Lifelong Learning Centre, Dundalk Institute of Technology on the dedicated application form which can be downloaded from www.learn.ie (click on Download Forms button).

Applicants must also submit either:

Confirmation from the local Social Welfare Office of the duration of the applicant’s claim to jobseekers payment

Or

A copy of form RP50 confirming that the applicant is entitled to statutory redundancy from their most recent employment.

Course Duration

The programme runs for one academic year.

September 7th 2009

Entry Requirements

Applicants should hold a National Framework Qualification at levels 4, 5 or 6. Applicants who do not hold an academic qualification and are mature applicants, those who are 23 years of age on January 1st 2009 may satisfy the entry requirement. Mature students who do not hold the required academic qualification will be required to sit an interview.

Please note that the deadline for receipt of applications is Friday 14th August.
